Some time ago I mentioned YLAnimatedGif for displaying GIF images on the iOS platform with low memory usage.
Here’s an open source Swift library called JWAnimatedImage that provides an optimized solution for displaying gifs created to work well in a multi-image use case from Jiawei Wang.
JWAnimatedImage has a number of nice features beyond providing an animated solution including:
– Image quality control
– Asynchronous loading of images
– Control of memory usage
– Ease of use as a UIImageView or UIIMageView extension
Here’s an animation from the readme showing JWAnimatedImage in action:
You can find JWAnimatedImage on Github here.
A great library for working with GIF images.
