Late last year I mentioned an open source component with customizable tick marks within the body of the slider itself called JMMarkSlider.
Here’s an open source component for creating slider controls with customizable images placed on each end and auto-appearing ticks above the slider called HUMSlider from Just Hum.
HUMSlider has a nice look similar to the native components, and the images which you can place as each side saturate as the slider moves from one end to the other, also the tick indicators move up out-of-the-way of the slider knob.
