Earlier this year I mentioned the Shimmer library that allows you to easily add a shimmering effect to a view like the loading status indicator in the Facebook Paper app.

Here’s another excellent open source library released by the Facebook engineering team providing the animation engine behind the Facebook Paper app.

As the readme states:

Pop is an extensible animation engine for iOS and OS X. In addition to basic static animations, it supports spring and decay dynamic animations, making it useful for building realistic, physics-based interactions. The API allows quick integration with existing Objective-C codebases and enables the animation of any property on any object.

You can read more about Pop on the Facebook Engineering Blog and you can find the library on Github here.

Jeremy Olson has used created a nice quick tutorial video on using Pop:

You can find the example code for the tutorial on Github here.

Another excellent release from Facebook for iOS developers.
