Open Source iOS Library For Easy Bug Reporting With Screenshots, Logging, Annotations, And More

I’ve mentioned a number of tools to aid in debugging – most recently a handy open source tool for debugging user interfaces in 3D, and a tool for testing out push notifications.

Here’s an interesting library from Marco Arment called BugshotKit that allows a tester to quickly take a screenshot within your apps with some extra useful debugging information.

Bugshot kit allows you to quickly take a screenshot, displayed side by side with a live NSLog console log which you can easily send to e-mail. Bugshotkit is compatible with any other tool that reports to the system log.

You can choose which gesture brings up the Bugshot window, and if you like you can even annote that screenshots with arrows, and boxes and blurring.
