There are a number of apps that take advantage of Apple’s region monitoring (geofencing) that allows you to send updates to app users when they enter or exit a specific area (such as making it so news stories are automatically downloaded when a user exits their home).
Sam Oakley has created a library called SJOPaperBoy for making these updates easier allowing you to easily specify code to run when the user enters or leaves a geofenced location. Also included is an interface so users can add their own locations.
You can find SJOPaperBoy on Github here with an included example.
You can read more about setting up region monitoring in Apple’s Location Awareness Programming Guide.
A nice library for making it easy to set up an ap that updates using region monitoring.
