I’ve mentioned the Stanford iTunesU course before, and posted about the most recent course on the iOS 5 tutorial page that completed in late 2011.
Things have now been taken one step further as Stanford is conducting an experiment known as “Code Together” and you can sign up to take the course in an interactive environment where you can ask questions, chat with other students, and possibly even get together and discuss app possibilities.
There are no grades for the class however the homepage states:
if you’re one of the first 1,000 people to register and you sign into Piazza regularly, your final project will be considered for special mention by Stanford
You can sign up for the course over at Piazza. New material will apparently be added to the existing lectures as the course moves along.
Here’s an image profiling some of the discussions inside:
This course is not designed for complete beginners – and suggests that you’ve got a couple of basic programming classes under your belt.
Even if you’ve got some experience the course can make a great refresher, and could be a good place to meet some aspiring app developers in your area.
