A few weeks ago I mentioned the Novocaine low latency audio library which provides a high level syntax for some specific tasks using Core Audio on the iOS platform.
Novocaine provides a great example on how to interact with the Core Audio API in the iOS SDK. If you want to take things further and develop a deeper understanding I’ve come across an interesting e-Book that provides some in-depth information on how to get started with using Core Audio.
The book specifically covers audio queues, and audio units and how to create 3rd party audio effects.
The book is from iZotope who have also created some interesting iOS audio SDKs for performing a wide variety of audio effects.
You can download the book from the iBookstore here.
You can find further information about iZotope’s audio SDKs and download a PDF version of the book from the iZotope website here.
Some good information to have handy if you find yourself needing to do some low level audio programming with the iOS SDK.
