After mentioning the excellent tutorial for making a rotating pie menu I received a question about how one would create a menu where the items acted as buttons as opposed to the rotary style. This reminded me of an example from the early days of the iOS platform on creating pop up pie menus.
With the release of the latest SDK the example had issues, but those issues have now been resolved and using this library you can easily create pop up pie menus with a beautiful graphical style.
Here’s a video showing the example code in action:
The example is from Antonio Cabezuelo Vivo, and you can find it on Github here.
You can tweak the variables within the demonstration application and come up with your own unique variations easily.
I have noticed some issues when changing the number and size of buttons that require some knowledge of geometry to get things working properly.
Combined with the pie menu tutorial mentioned yesterday for understanding the math, and this example these resources to create some very cool Tony Stark like menus.
