Thanks For Voting: First Look – Question Now Obj-C or C++?

Hey everybody,

Thanks to all those who voted in the previous post.. when it became clear that Cocos2D was going to come out on top I began conversion of the project to Cocos2D. You can see what I’ve managed to get going so far today in the video below.

Since I wrote the game with a lot of high level functions it shouldn’t be much of an issue to convert it to use the Sparrow Framework, or Core Graphics.

Still some issues related to timing, and Z-ordering that required me to modify the Cocos2D source a little bit to get something working quickly, and the game logic is still written in C++ (I just modified it a bit to wrap Cocos2D rendering code).

So just one more vote, I’m guessing that most will want Objective-C, but if there is an interest in getting this working with a C++ wrapper around the Obj-C Cocos2D code I’ll release it in that manner first. An advantage of doing it that way is that the game logic could be ported to platforms that don’t utilize Obj-C easier.
