Testing Out iPad Code With An iPhone or iPod Touch

One of the big questions is whether or not we should hold off writing iPad apps until having a proper testing device.  While there is no way to test the exact hardware without having an iPad there is now a way to test iPad code using an iPhone or iPod touch and the iPad simulator.

This is done by using iSimulate, a tool that allows you to control the iPhone simulator, and the iPad simulator wirelessly.  I’ve mentioned it before as a great way to create app trailers that don’t suck without jailbreaking.   So while the iPhone has a smaller screen size you can at least test out the iPad functionality.  You will need to have the latest iPhone SDK that includes the iPad simulator installed.

Please post any thoughts below, Thanks.
