Need Your Help – Suspended On Twitter

UPDATE: It appears as though the account was unsuspended, thankyou everyone that tweeted and e-mailed.  I’ll keep this article up so that you can see that it is possible to fix this BS!

Hello, as many of you know I have been twittering about iPhone development for the last few months using the account name @maniacdev.  Today I tried to login to twitter, and found that my account had been suspended.

If you’ve been following me you know that I do not spam, or do anything like that.  I have used a service to follow those who talk about iPhone development on Twitter (based on keywords) and although that was a limited number of people (usually < 50 in a day) it appears that it may have caused Twitter to believe I was a spammer.  I also used the Tweetlater service to automatically respond to people when they follow me (I think that’s pretty common).  I also unfollowed those who didn’t follow me, and followed those who did (something i believe is very common also).

From what I can tell none of this  is a violation of Twitters terms.

If you’ve enjoyed my Tweets please help me out by e-mailing twitter at — Removed since they unsuspended me. I know everyone is very busy, and if you don’t have the time to send an e-mail I would appreciate it if you at least retweeted this message using the button in the top left corner.  Even if you can’t do that a Digg or anything would be appreciated.

If you saw anything funny happen with my account earlier today (July 5) please let me know about it, I assure you that I was not sending out any spam tweets or anything like that deliberately, so if there was anything then please let me know about it.

Anyways, right now I’m somewhat discouraged from this, but I am likely going to post links on Digg, Del.icio.us or someplace else, and set up a Friendfeed channel.   I will look into alternatives after this unwarranted suspension.
