Example: Excellent Open Source iPad Twitter Client iPad Built With HTML5/Phonegap

When updating the open source app listing (now at 78 apps) I came across a very interesting app that has been open sourced.

This app is a twitter client created using HTML5/Phonegap (Cordova), created by Tim Wilkinson an engineering director at Twitter (although this is a personal project – not an official Twitter project).

Not only does this make a great example, but it’s also a very interesting app allowing you to create filters and groups with a drag and drop interface and more.

The app also has a nice design as you can see in the images below:

You can find the app source code on Github here.

The app can be downloaded free in the iPad app store here.

Other apps added in this update to the open source iOS app list include: a Scratch viewer that was removed from the app store, iWVU the official app of West Virginia University, and Sign+ a simple app that turns your iPad into a digital sign.
