Add Snazzy Drag & Drop Functionality To Mapkit In iOS 4 – Open Source
MapKit has been a great addition to the iPhone SDK since it was introduced, but for the most part is a pretty plain library, and because of that there’s even been some mapkit alternatives that have cropped up.
Ching-Lan Huang has come up with a slick and easy to use library that allows you to drag and drop a pin on a MapKit map, and neatly display the user’s location (and whatever information you want).
This is done with a very neat looking pin with a shadow and some core animation effects providing a very professional looking result. The latest version fully works with retina display sized apps so there’s no visual compromise.

Btw, if you’ve created an open source library and need some exposure submit information about it here and I’ll be glad to check it out, and put it in front of the 2,000ish daily visitors to this site.
