<description>As a gearhead I will start by saying that I will be buying an iPad just because it is new and cool, just as I would probably buy an iPillow that I could plug into at night if there was such a thing.

I do believe that there is soooo much potential for this device. And that is genuinely is a new category of computing device that will quickly and easily be adopted into our daily lives in such a way that within a few years we may wonder how we functioned with out it.

One of the ways that I hope to be able to use the ipad is as an external camera control device. As an aspiring photographer, I really like the idea of being about to connect a computer to my camera while in the field and being about to preview my shot on a larger screen and make adjustments before taking the shot.

I am able to do this with my Nikon d3 and a laptop at this time, however, camera gear is heavy enough on its own. Add to that weight a laptop and you nearly become a pack mule. For an ipad to be able to step in and assume the role for view and camera control would be amazing.

Cheers all! I just wanted to share my nickels worth of thoughts.

Jesse
